In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

1. Ta. Seen. Meem.

2. These are the verses of the clear Book.

3. Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they refuse to believe.

4. If We wished, We could send down upon them a sign from heaven, before which their necks would bow in submission.

5. Yet whenever a fresh reminder from the Most Merciful comes to them, they turn away from it.

6. They have already denied the truth — soon they will face the consequences of what they mocked.

7. Have they not observed the earth, how many noble kinds of plants We have caused to grow upon it?

8. Truly, in this is a sign, yet most of them do not believe.

9. And surely your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

10. Remember when your Lord called to Moses, "Go to the wrongdoing people.

11. The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?"

12. Moses said, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me.

13. And my heart tightens, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron.

14. Besides, they hold a charge against me, and I fear they may kill me."

15. Allah said, "Certainly not. Go, both of you, with Our signs. We are with you, listening closely.

16. Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of all the worlds.

17. Let the Children of Israel go with us.'"

18. Pharaoh said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and did you not spend many years of your life with us?

19. And you committed that deed you committed, and you were among the ungrateful."

20. Moses replied, "I did it then, when I was lost.

21. So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord granted me wisdom, and made me one of His messengers.

22. And is this the favor you remind me of — that you enslaved the Children of Israel?"

23. Pharaoh asked, "And what is this 'Lord of all the worlds'?"

24. Moses replied, "He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them — if only you were certain."

25. Pharaoh said to those around him, "Are you hearing this?"

26. Moses continued, "He is your Lord, and the Lord of your earliest ancestors."

27. Pharaoh said, "This messenger sent to you is surely insane!"

28. Moses responded, "He is the Lord of the east and the west, and everything between them — if only you would understand."

29. Pharaoh threatened, "If you dare take any god other than me, I will surely imprison you!"

30. Moses asked, "Even if I bring you clear proof?"

31. Pharaoh said, "Then bring it, if you are truthful."

32. So Moses threw down his staff, and suddenly — it became an obvious serpent.

33. Then he drew out his hand, and it became white for the onlookers.

34. Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, "This man is certainly a skilled magician."

35. "He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic. So what do you advise?"

36. They replied, "Delay him and his brother, and send messengers to all the cities."

37. "To bring you every expert magician."

38. So the magicians were gathered for an appointed day.

39. And the people were asked, "Will you all assemble."

40. "So that we may follow the magicians, if they are victorious?"

41. When the magicians arrived, they asked Pharaoh, "Will we have a reward, if we are the winners?"

42. Pharaoh replied, "Yes, and you will surely be among those closest to me."

43. Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you wish to throw."

44. So they threw down their ropes and staffs, declaring, "By Pharaoh's might, we will surely be victorious!"

45. Then Moses threw down his staff, and at once — it swallowed what they falsified.

46. The magicians fell down in prostration.

47. Declaring, "We believe in the Lord of all the worlds."

48. "The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

49. Pharaoh shouted, "How dare you believe in him before I give you permission! He must be your master who taught you magic. Soon you will see — I will surely cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and crucify every one of you!"

50. They replied, "It does not matter; we will surely return to our Lord."

51. "We hope our Lord will forgive our sins, as we are the first to believe."

52. And We inspired Moses, "Set out by night with My servants — you will surely be pursued."

53. Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities.

54. Declaring, "These people are just a small, insignificant group.

55. Yet they have enraged us.

56. And we are all on our guard."

57. So We drove them out from gardens and springs.

58. From treasures and splendid dwellings.

59. Thus it was, and We made the Children of Israel inherit them.

60. At sunrise, Pharaoh's people pursued them.

61. When the two groups came within sight of each other, Moses' companions cried out, "We are surely doomed!"

62. Moses said, "By no means! My Lord is with me; He will guide me."

63. Then We revealed to Moses, "Strike the sea with your staff." It parted, each side rising like a towering mountain.

64. And there We brought the others near.

65. We saved Moses and all those with him.

66. Then We drowned the others.

67. Truly, in this is a clear sign — yet most of them would not believe.

68. And your Lord is surely the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

69. Recite to them the story of Abraham.

70. When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"

71. They replied, "We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them."

72. He said, "Do they hear you when you call upon them?

73. Or can they benefit or harm you?"

74. They answered, "No, but we found our ancestors doing the same."

75. Abraham said, "Have you considered what you have been worshiping?

76. You and your ancient forefathers?

77. They are all enemies to me, except the Lord of all creation.

78. Who created me, and He guides me.

79. Who gives me food and drink.

80. And when I fall ill, He heals me.

81. Who will cause me to die, then bring me back to life.

82. And Who, I hope, will forgive my faults on the Day of Judgment.

83. My Lord, grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous.

84. Give me an honorable reputation among later generations.

85. And make me among the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.

86. Forgive my father, for he was among those who went astray.

87. And do not disgrace me on the Day when all are resurrected.

88. The Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit.

89. Except to those who come to Allah with a sound heart."

90. Paradise will be brought near to those mindful of Allah.

91. And Hellfire will be plainly displayed to those who went astray.

92. They will be asked, "Where are those you worshiped?

93. Besides Allah? Can they help you now, or even help themselves?"

94. Then they will be hurled headlong into Hell — they and those who went astray.

95. And all the forces of Satan, together.

96. There, as they argue bitterly with one another.

97. They will say, "By Allah, we were clearly misguided.

98. When we made you equal to the Lord of all creation.

99. And no one led us astray except the wicked.

100. Now we have no intercessors.

101. Nor any close, caring friend.

102. If only we had another chance, we would surely be among the believers."

103. Truly, in this is a clear sign — yet most of them would not believe.

104. And your Lord is surely the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

105. The people of Noah rejected the messengers.

106. When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not be mindful of Allah?

107. I am a trustworthy messenger sent to you.

108. So fear Allah and obey me.

109. I ask no reward from you for this; my reward comes only from the Lord of all worlds.

110. So fear Allah, and obey me."

111. They replied, "Should we believe you, when only the lowest people follow you?"

112. He said, "What knowledge do I have of what they used to do?

113. Their judgment rests solely with my Lord, if only you understood.

114. And I will never drive away the believers.

115. I am nothing but a clear warner."

116. They said, "Noah, if you do not stop, you will surely be stoned."

117. He prayed, "My Lord, my people have rejected me.

118. So judge decisively between me and them, and save me and the believers who are with me."

119. So We saved him, and those with him, in the fully laden ark.

120. Then afterward, We drowned all the rest.

121. Surely, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe.

122. And truly, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

123. The people of Aad rejected the messengers.

124. When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not be mindful of Allah?

125. Truly, I am a trustworthy messenger sent to you.

126. So fear Allah, and obey me.

127. I ask no reward from you for this; my reward comes only from the Lord of all worlds.

128. Do you build monuments on every high place, for no purpose?

129. And construct grand structures, hoping to live forever?

130. And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.

131. So fear Allah, and obey me.

132. And fear Him Who has provided you with all that you know.

133. He has provided you with livestock and children.

134. And gardens, and flowing springs.

135. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day."

136. They said, "It makes no difference to us, whether you warn us or not.

137. This is nothing but the custom of the former peoples.

138. And we will never be punished."

139. So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Surely, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe.

140. And truly, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

141. The people of Thamud rejected the messengers.

142. When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not be mindful of Allah?"

143. I am a trustworthy messenger to you.

144. So be mindful of Allah, and obey me.

145. I ask no reward from you for this; my reward comes only from the Lord of all worlds.

146. Do you think you will be left secure in what you have here?

147. Amid gardens and springs.

148. Fields and palm trees heavy with ripe fruit.

149. And carving out homes from the mountains with skill.

150. So be mindful of Allah, and obey me.

151. And do not follow the commands of the transgressors.

152. Those who spread corruption on earth, and never set things right.

153. They said, "You are surely one of those bewitched.

154. You are only a human being like us. Show us a sign, if you are truthful."

155. He said, "Here is a she-camel; she has her turn to drink, and you have yours on a specified day.

156. Do not harm her, or the punishment of a terrible day will seize you."

157. Yet they slaughtered her, and soon regretted it.

158. Then the punishment overtook them. Surely, in this is a sign, yet most of them would not believe.

159. And your Lord is truly the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

160. The people of Lot rejected the messengers.

161. When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not be mindful of Allah?

162. I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.

163. So be mindful of Allah, and obey me.

164. I ask no reward from you for this; my reward comes only from the Lord of all worlds.

165. Do you approach males among all people?

166. And abandon the spouses your Lord created for you? You are truly a people who cross all bounds."

167. They said, "Lot, if you do not stop, you will surely be driven out."

168. He said, "I utterly detest what you do.

169. My Lord, save me and my family from what they do."

170. So We saved him, and all his family.

171. Except an old woman among those who stayed behind.

172. Then We utterly destroyed the rest.

173. And We rained down upon them a rain — How dreadful was the rain of those who had been warned!

174. Surely, in this is a sign, yet most of them would not believe.

175. And your Lord is truly the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

176. The dwellers of the wood rejected the messengers.

177. When Shuayb said to them, "Will you not be mindful of Allah?

178. I am a trustworthy messenger to you.

179. So be mindful of Allah, and obey me.

180. I ask no reward from you for this; my reward comes only from the Lord of all worlds.

181. Give full measure, and do not be among those who cheat others.

182. Weigh with just scales.

183. Do not defraud people of their things, and do not go about spreading corruption in the land.

184. And fear the One Who created you, and the generations before you."

185. They said, "You are surely one of those bewitched.

186. You are only a human being like us, and we truly think you are a liar.

187. So make pieces of the sky fall upon us, if you are truthful."

188. He said, "My Lord knows best what you do."

189. But they rejected him, so the punishment of the Day of the Dark Cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a great day.

190. Surely, in this is a sign, yet most of them would not believe.

191. And your Lord is truly the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

192. Certainly, this is a revelation from the Lord of all creation.

193. The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down.

194. Upon your heart, so that you may be among those who warn.

195. In a clear Arabic language.

196. And it was foretold in the scriptures of earlier peoples.

197. Is it not proof enough for them, that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognize it?

198. Even if We had revealed it to someone who did not speak Arabic.

199. And he recited it to them, they still would not have believed in it.

200. Thus We have inserted it into the hearts of the criminals.

201. They will not believe in it, until they see the painful punishment.

202. Which will come upon them suddenly, without their realizing it.

203. Then they will cry out, "Will we be given more time?"

204. Do they really seek to hasten Our punishment?

205. Consider this: even if We allowed them enjoyment for many years.

206. Then the punishment they were promised finally came upon them.

207. What good would all their past pleasures do them?

208. Never did We destroy a town, without first sending it warners.

209. As a reminder. And We have never been unjust.

210. It was not the devils who brought this revelation down.

211. It is neither fitting for them, nor are they able to do so.

212. Indeed, they are completely barred from even hearing it.

213. So do not call upon any other god alongside Allah, or you will be among those punished.

214. And warn your closest relatives.

215. And lower your wing to the believers who follow you.

216. But if they disobey you, then say, "I am free from what you do."

217. And place your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

218. Who sees you when you stand.

219. And your movements among those who prostrate themselves.

220. Truly, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

221. Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend?

222. They descend upon every lying sinner.

223. They eagerly pass on what they overhear — but most of them are liars.

224. And as for the poets, only those who are misguided follow them.

225. Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley.

226. And how they say things they never do?

227. Except for those who believe, do righteous deeds, remember Allah often, and defend themselves after being wronged. Those who do wrong will soon know to what end they will return.
