In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
1. Alif. Lam. Ra. These are the verses of the Book, and a clear Quran.
2. Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish they had been submitters.
3. Let them eat and enjoy themselves, and let false hopes distract them; soon they will come to know.
4. We never destroyed any town without a predetermined decree.
5. No community can advance or delay its appointed time.
6. They say, "You, upon whom the Reminder has been sent down — you are surely insane!
7. Why don't you bring angels to us, if you are truthful?"
8. We do not send down angels except with truth, and then they would be granted no delay.
9. Truly, it is We Who sent down the Reminder, and We will surely preserve it.
10. Certainly, We sent messengers before you among earlier communities.
11. But no messenger ever came to them without being mocked.
12. This is how we insert it into the hearts of the criminals.
13. They will not believe in it, though the example of earlier peoples has already passed.
14. Even if We opened for them a gateway into heaven, through which they continually ascended.
15. They would still say, "Our eyes have been dazzled; no, we are surely bewitched!"
16. Indeed, We placed constellations in the sky, and We adorned them for the beholders.
17. And We protected them from every accursed devil.
18. Except the one who steals a hearing — then a blazing flame pursues him.
19. And the earth — We spread it out, set firm mountains upon it, and caused every balanced thing to grow within it.
20. We provided livelihoods there for you, and for those whom you do not provide for.
21. There is nothing whose treasures are not with Us, and We send it down only in a determined measure.
22. We send fertilizing winds, then bring down water from the sky for you to drink — and you are not its keepers.
23. Truly, it is We Who give life and cause death, and We are the ultimate inheritors.
24. Certainly, We know those who came before you, and We know those who will come later.
25. Indeed, your Lord will gather them all together — He is truly Wise, All-Knowing.
26. Certainly, We created the human being from clay, from molded mud.
27. And the jinn We created earlier, from scorching fire.
28. Remember when your Lord said to the angels, "I am creating a human being from clay, from molded mud.
29. When I have shaped him, and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration."
30. So all the angels prostrated, all of them together.
31. Except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated.
32. Allah said, "O Iblis, what is the matter with you, that you are not among those who prostrate?"
33. He replied, "I will never prostrate to a human You created from clay, from molded mud."
34. Allah said, "Then get out from here, for you are truly rejected.
35. And surely, upon you is the curse, until the Day of Judgment."
36. He said, "My Lord, then grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected."
37. Allah said, "You are among those granted respite.
38. Until the Day of the appointed time."
39. He said, "My Lord, because You have led me astray, I will surely beautify for them on earth, and I will mislead them all.
40. Except Your sincere servants among them."
41. Allah said, "This is My straight path.
42. You will have no authority over My servants, except those misguided ones who follow you.
43. And surely Hell is the promised place for them all.
44. It has seven gates, each gate assigned a portion of them."
45. Truly, the righteous will be in gardens and springs.
46. "Enter them in peace, secure and safe."
47. And We will remove all grudges from their hearts; they will be brothers, seated on couches, facing one another.
48. No fatigue will ever touch them there, nor will they ever be made to leave.
49. Tell My servants that I am the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
50. And that My punishment is the painful punishment.
51. And tell them about Abraham's guests.
52. When they entered his presence, they greeted him with peace. He replied, "We feel apprehensive about you."
53. They said, "Do not be afraid; we bring you good news of a knowledgeable son."
54. He said, "Do you bring me good news, despite my old age? What kind of news is this?"
55. They answered, "We have brought you true good news, so do not lose hope."
56. He said, "Who could lose hope in his Lord's mercy, except those who have gone astray?"
57. Then he asked, "What is your mission, messengers?"
58. They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people."
59. "Except for Lot's family — we will surely save them all,"
60. "Except his wife; We have decreed that she will remain behind."
61. When the messengers came to the family of Lot.
62. He said, "You are strangers to me."
63. They replied, "Rather, we have come to you with what they have been doubting."
64. "We have brought you the truth, and we are certainly truthful."
65. "So leave with your family during the night, and follow closely behind them. Let none of you look back, but go where you are commanded."
66. And We revealed to him this decree: that by morning, those people's roots would be utterly cut off.
67. Then the townspeople came rejoicing.
68. Lot said, "These are my guests; do not disgrace me."
69. "Fear Allah, and do not humiliate me."
70. They replied, "Did we not forbid you from people?"
71. He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act."
72. By your life, they were wandering blindly in their intoxication.
73. So the blast seized them at sunrise.
74. And We turned it upside down, raining upon them stones of baked clay.
75. Surely, in this are signs for those who discern.
76. And indeed, it lies along a clear, well-known road.
77. Truly, in this is a sign for the believers.
78. The people of the Woodlands were also wrongdoers.
79. So We took vengeance upon them. Both of them are on a clear road.
80. The people of Al-Hijr also rejected the messengers.
81. We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them.
82. They carved secure homes from mountains.
83. Yet the blast overtook them in the morning.
84. And all they had earned, was of no help to them.
85. We did not create the heavens, and the earth, and everything between them, except with truth. The Hour is surely coming, so forgive graciously.
86. Your Lord is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.
87. We have given you the seven oft-repeated, and the grand Quran.
88. Do not look longingly at the worldly pleasures We have granted some among them, nor grieve over them. Rather, be gentle and humble toward the believers.
89. And say, "I am the clear warner,"
90. Just as We sent down upon those who divided.
91. Those who made the Quran into fragments.
92. By your Lord, We will surely question them all.
93. About what they used to do.
94. So proclaim openly what you have been commanded, and turn away from those who associate others with Allah.
95. We are sufficient for you against the mockers.
96. Those who set up another god alongside Allah — they will soon come to know.
97. We certainly know your heart is distressed by what they say.
98. So glorify your Lord with praise, and be among those who bow down.
99. And worship your Lord, until certainty comes to you.
